I was reading a thread on Facebook. Subject was about the new Democratic govenor in Louisiana

I'm still picking my jaw off the ground.

Now Conservatives are saying low gas prices will be our doom.

I shit you not.

First they predicted $10 a gallon under the Obama administration.

Now all of a sudden, low gas prices are bad.

These assholes make it up as they go along.

But i gaurantee you low gass prices and low UE will not help the GOP nominee next year.. the only thing would be a god forbid attack here and you have a almost gauranteed GOP win IMO...... Otherwise its gonna be Hillary or Bernie vs Trump/cruz

fewer jobs for people who work the rigs and for businesses that service the oil industry.

A similar process in Kentucky around the closure of coal mines contributed to the disastrous elections in that state.

They are not making it up. They are speaking from the point of view of people who make their living in the oil industry.

The $500B or so of debt that companies incurred during the shale boom might prove to be a problem with cheap oil.

LA makes a whole lot of money from oil. Low oil (and thus gas) prices mean LA gets a lot less money.

is Jindalnomics. Also the state doesn't try to diversify its income stream and is the poorer for it.

There was once a proposal to build a super-airport between NOLA and Baton Rouge, right in the middle of all that.

Also, there are places to visit in Louisiana besides the French Quarter. Lafayette comes to mind.
