We lost a lot that day...and, I believe we lost even more the day his brother, Robert was killed.

He was riding in a convertible at a shopping center in Indianapolis. My best friend; Stella, and I ran down a hill to greet him. There was Secret Service, but nothing like today.

The next day, we rode a bus downtown to hear him speak. We decided after the speech that we wanted to talk to him personally. Can you believe that we actually got within 10 feet of his hotel room door, before we got stopped? It's a moment that I'll remember and treasure always.

Sadly, the next night, he had to announce that Martin Luther King had been assassinated. I believe that Robert Kennedy's presence and calm words kept the peace in this city that night.

A tremendous loss to all of us, and to the future...both Robert and Martin.
