May I say or ask something

about the animated siglines. Siglines are a good way for us to know where each of us stands but when so many are animated gif's it makes for a slow day at the old DU corral for those of us who are on slow internet connections. I'm paying 70 bucks for DSL which is the fastest they offer here so its not like some of us are on dial up. Back when we didn't have a DSL option and all we had was dialup I kept all animations turned off other wise DU was all but unreadable to me.
All I'm asking is to keep us in mind when you put animated gif's in your sigline. It takes a while for them to load.

Ok if someone has a solution to speed things up for people like me I'm all Ear.

Anyways lets all have a good day.

not sure I want to go down a script blocker road though. Seems I remember trying that once and it really made the internet suck and not just on DU but everywhere else.

If you would point me to a script blocker that might be what I'm looking for and I'll always be indebted to you

I'll bet there are still some DUers on dial up. We are on sattelite whitch is fast enough but animations and videos eat up ones data allowance.

One of the lessons I tried to teach our sons is, "Everything you do affects others. So think before you act."

I get a solid 3 most times. Never seen a 7 yet.
It does get a little better when I'm on here at 2 am though

But good luck with your request.

Unfortunately, the parties on both sides are too busy swatting (pun intended) at each other to care much about anyone else.

18. Then why
Mon Nov 23, 2015, 10:36 AM
Nov 2015

when I turn them off there is a noticeable difference in times it takes for a page to load, sometimes. Sometimes not but I've noticed those times are when there isn't any animated gifs loading.

Maybe I just need to get the roto-rooter out here to clean my lines out :- After all Sen. Stevens of Alaska said the internet was a series of tubes, didn't he?

adapting their web presence for others, I doubt many of the caring liberals here would sacrifice how they present themselves online for those with substandard internet connections.

But, at the same time, they would probably reply they aren't paying $70 a month to have a reduced online experience.
