with all provincial and Territorial Governments to take refugees. And I really don't think that the Northwest Territories, the Yukon and Nunavut should get any refugees. They are just too far north. It is too cold. People would not want to settle there being from the Middle East. It would be actually scary for them to be in that climate. That I don't agree with. And the time limit of January 1st for 25 thousand Syrian refugees. They should extend the time limit so it can be better organized, and more secure.

Cities are the best places for refugees' initial landing, where we've got the resources to deal with their unique needs. These people have been through hell and will need a broad range of services. The timeline will extend, but I like the size and intent of the initial goal. Sent a message that this is serious and urgent.

Sadly, so years of the Harper regime has hamstrung our ability to work across all levels of government to get things like this done. This is a good national project to regain that ability, as well as our compassion.
