Now, MSNBC: Chicago Black Friday Protests Death of Laguan McDonald, Intermittent Reports

Laguan McDonald was the 17 year old black youth tragically killed by police in 2014 as shown in a recent video release.
Protestors today advocate justice and police reforms and are attempting to peacefully disrupt and suppress shopping in a main shopping area, Magnificent Mile on Michigan Ave. in Chicago.

>Rev. Jesse Jackson is there and expected to speak to the press.

>MSNBC's Alex Witt has been presenting *intermittent coverage and just spoke with a representative who said there are around 1,000+ people there if I heard correctly. A weather storm is also possibly moving toward the area.
I'm unable to find any reports online yet.

6. Why Aren't They Calling For Rahm To Resign?.....

Rahm had an election to win and if this came out during the run-up to the election Chuey Garcia would be Chicago's Mayor now.

This was clearly to be swept under the rug. If it wasn't for the judge saying that the video needed to be released we wouldn't be hearing anything about this.

They suppressed the video. They erased Burger King's video. They paid $5 mil hush money to the family. This was just supposed to go away.

Look at how fast they charged this cop with 1st degree murder after they knew the video needed to be made public.

I don't believe Rahm one iota saying he never saw the video. They had to make a $5 mil settlement from city funds that is on the verge of bankruptcy. If he didn't check out the video and just allowed the payment - that would be negligent. Seeing the video and saying he didn't is just perpetuating a cover-up. The citizens of Chicago need to demand his resignation.

And will be leaving to the local event in a few. The context is not just Chicago. This is the second year nationally that BLM takes to the streets nationwide. Not that I expect oh MSNBC to tell you the national story here.

For the record, I expect ours to have a few participants I hope more than the curious press that will show up to cover it

13. Media... we are media

we don't protest, we cover this. Though just came home, and transferring the photos and videos and the rest. I was pleasantly surprised that the media was outnumbered by the protesters though. I have seen situations when we outnumber the protesting parties.

Should have a story up by tonight
