His name is Pat Camden. Professional story teller for Chicago police.

For a year, we've been given a false account of the shooting of Laquan McDonald, and some people are asking for the resignation of the police chief and others that appear to have been conducting a cover-up. One man who makes his living creating half-truths or spinning false narratives, in shooting after shooting, is Pat Camden. Whenever I see his name in an article, alarm bells go up that the Propaganda machine has likely been switched on.

This is Pat Camden on the Laquan McDonald shooting:

"Officers got out of their car and began approaching McDonald, again telling him to drop the knife, Camden said. The boy allegedly lunged at police, and one of the officers opened fire."

Pat Camden used to be a spokesman for the Police department itself, who got pushed over in 2008, but basically ended up in the same role at the Fraternal Order of Police. He still is the one quoted. He spins exciting stories, if you believe them, about officers "ducking bullets flying overhead" and play-by-play accounts of what police shooters say has happened. But Laquan's killing was on video. If we can't believe that Laquan "lunged", why should we believe Pat Camden's accounts of anything? There are plenty of eye-witnesses.

I wonder about all of these guns found afterward. How many of them were "throw-down weapons"?

Pat's a busy guy in Chicago, where police have shot as many as 8 people in one Fourth of July weekend -- including a 14-year old teen, shot twice in the back coming home from a birthday party -- Pedro Rios Jr,14, alone in an alley. But, hey, police say they found a gun.

The same weekend as Pedro Rios, there was Warren Robinson, 16. Witnesses said Robinson had his hands up in the air and was still shot multiple times.

“Police tell you to drop your gun, drop the gun and nothing is going happen,” said Fraternal Order of Police spokesman Pat Camden. “You put an officer in fear of his life, he’s going to defend himself.”

He was told multiple times he was told drop the gun, drop the gun. He is coming out from under the car with the gun in hand. At that point he shot. He is told again after he is shot to drop the gun and he refuses to do so still has his finger on the trigger. The officers again defend themselves,” Fraternal Order of Police spokesman Pat Camden said.

Then there was Christian Green, 17. Shooting off fireworks? Why would we believe otherwise? Just because there is no video??
Police shot and killed 17-year-old Christian Green after police say Green ran from officers who tried to question him.
Pat Camden is a spokesperson for the police union and says Green was armed.
"Individual at that point gun in hand pointing it at the officer,' Camden said. "The officers fire in defense of their life."
"It's got nothing to do with fireworks," said Camden. "It's got to do with an illegal weapon being carried illegally by an individual who points it at the police putting them in danger of their life.

And Tykwon Davis, 17. Oct 31, 2014, who can no longer walk.
The officers saw the muzzle flashes of the gun, according to Fraternal Order of Police Spokesman Pat Camden.

“They shot him five times, for no reason, in the back.” Middleton said her son was running away from gunfire when he was hit.

Or Jamaal Moore, whose family was awarded a $1.25 million settlement.

Fortunately not killed, 13 year old Jimmel Cannon was shot 8 times while at a birthday party with his family.

Camden said the officers handled the shooting correctly, saying that everyone should immediately recognize an officer's order to drop their handgun. He added that BB guns and other replicas are often indistinguishable from real firearms, even to trained police officers.

"Drop your guns, put your hands up, that's it. It's not complicated," Camden said. "They insist on holding on to the gun and officer's not going to wait to see if you're going to shoot or not. If he's in fear of his life and has to defend himself, that's what he's going to do."

$132 million in lawsuits in 2012-2013. The police are aggravated at being second-guessed, but their brutality is costing us all a lot of money, by the way. In addition to costing many, many lives, most likely including innocent young lives.

People keep believing the portrayal of these shootings, unless confronted by video evidence. Isn't it obvious that the ones caught on video are tip of an iceberg? And this spokesman deserves to be publicly ostracized for spending his career shamelessly defending the thuggery of homicidal cops.

I noticed it was an independent journalist that sued to release the tape. Where's the Chicago Tribune??

Bad cops are unfortunate; a bad system that allows coverups is a terrible tragedy.
