It's pretty clear that he recently trimmed his beard away from his mouth, as is hair in front of his ears where the beard meets the hair of his scalp.

The hair on his head isn't especially long, and suggests he's been to a barber in the past month.

If attempts are going to be made to use appearance as an indication of a problem, perhaps as in the way the old Axis 5 levels of social-psychological impairment did, this guy's grooming doesn't really suggest a long standing problem with capacity to fulfill functions of daily living as they relate to hair.

In the comments section under the CNN video of this story, a wingnut had written that he hoped the shooter wasn't white, as this would be a liberal's 'wet dream.' This guy is Timothy McVeigh, Cliven Bundy, Louie Gohmert, Archie Bunker and Joe Arpaio all rolled into one.

At a well known right wingnut board, there was discussion that the shooter was "probably" black. When the mug shot was finally posted in that thread to prove that they were wrong, it shifted to "he could be a light-skinned black".
