Notification of family.
If a PP employee or volunteer, make sure it's ok to release their names so to not target their families.
If a PP patient, privacy rules. Though PP said their staff and patients were all alive.
Thanksgiving weekend slows thing down as staffing is less.
There is no need for us to know the names, demanding them and calling it ridiculous that we don't know is unneeded, intrustive.

Why did I jump, be snarky? Because I tire of "we deserve to know now" mentality, because I've been both a PP patient and a volunteer over the years and take it personally when asses (not meaning the OP but the greater world) try to limit women's reproductive rights and healthcare by terrorism, because I quit such a job due to lack of security, because PP has cautioned ascribing motives at this point and my pointing that out has gotten me called names. Because it's the first thanksgiving being an orphan as well as being physically hurt, unable to do my old job and freaking out about how to make it financially even minimally due to being hurt and my age.

Still. All that aside, I should not have replied with snark and apologize for doing so. I try to post rationally and informatively and I failed. Thank you for calling me on it, seriously. I edited and apologized and am sorry.

None of their staff or their patients were killed. He shot some people in the parking lot, maybe that's who was killed. I saw on CNN they were interviewing a woman who was in the clinic for a prenatal check up with her boyfriend. When they saw the man with the gun in the parking lot through a window he ran out of the building and she was ushered to safety by PP staff. She said that she never saw him again. She has contacted the hospitals but he wasn't there. I fear he was one of those killed but since they are not married the police won't give her answers.

According to the NYT earlier today, the names will be released Monday, after autopsies.

There's this thing about respecting family privacy at a time when they are undoubtedly going through some tragedy.

Don't ask me why they released the policeman's name soon. I have no idea. But I imagine being a cop might have something to do with it.

23. CNN Essentially Confirmed One Of Deceased
Sat Nov 28, 2015, 08:50 PM
Nov 2015

This afternoon they interviewed a pregnant PP patient who went to the center with her boyfriend for an ultrasound. He left the facility to get the car, while she was about to walk outside herself when the shooting started. One of the staff said that someone was shooting outside, and when this patient looked out the window, she could see him with his weapon.

She hid inside an unlocked room, and a bullet actually went through the wall while the shooter was in the hallway. He never entered the room where she and another lady were hiding.

She texted her boyfriend during the shooting, but he never replied. She has not spoken with him since, and neither has his sister. The sister phoned his #, and someone picked up, said nothing, and then hung up.

Combine this with a witness outside who saw the shooter shoot a car that was driving by, where the driver fell out of the vehicle bleeding profusely.

According to the girlfriend, police have not given her or his sister any information, this was as of today. I do find that repulsive, if true, and also very curious that they are singularly focused on the cop who was killed.

I'm willing to bet that the families have not been notified, otherwise word of their names would have surely leaked by now. I think it's a certainty that this patient's boyfriend is sadly one of them.
