Chicago shooting video tampered with, Burger King manager says (86 minutes missing from tape)

RESTAURANT MANAGER SAYS CHICAGO POLICE TAMPERED WITH VIDEO OF LAQUAN MCDONALD’S MURDER

There are more videos of Laquan McDonald’s murder than just the police dashcam video that Chicago just released.

A nearby Burger King also had surveillance video, which the FBI seized, but the restaurant’s manager is saying there are 86 minutes of footage missing. Unsurprisingly, the missing footage is during the time that Officer Jason Van Dyke shot Laquan McDonald to death and beyond.

The manager, Jay Darshane, testified that the footage was missing before a grand jury. CPD apparently entered the restaurant following the shooting, asked to see the video footage, and when they left two hours later, there were 86 minutes missing from the tape. Darshane told the Chicago Tribune:

I was just trying to help the police with their investigation. I didn’t know they were going to delete it.

1. So when are those cops going to be indicted

Destruction of evidence? Accessory after the fact? Conspiracy? Lots of juicy charges to file if anybody in the DA's office gave a shit.

4. Wasn't there a security tape showing the cops editing the video?

A lawyer I heard speak said Burger King had another video camera recording the inside of the restaurant. It showed five or six cops in blue shirts coming in and working the tape machine and erasing the outside video. They forgot to look for any other cameras.

Anyone else hear that? I can't find corroboration online.

to have a security camera filming inside the office, where the safe is also kept.

Additionally, the Burger King manager told WGN that police, somewhat ironically were also caught on the same surveillance system deleting files. He says the FBI now has that video.

Perhaps that tape shows exactly who went into the office and edited. I hope a lot of people learn just what kind of "authorities" are making life and death decisions in our "democracy."

9. I heard the video cams from all the cop cars -- save one -- went bad, too.

Which is some coincidence, seeing how at that exact time the video from the BK went bad.

Maybe it was some kind of freak phenomenon, like blue lightning.

“I was just trying to help the police with their investigation," Jay Darshane, Burger King manager. "We had no idea they were going to sit there and delete files."

I hope the FBI is not corrupt.

6. Right out of the CIA playbook

Following the example of Jose Rodriguez of the CIA, the Chicago PD obviously made the calculation that they'd rather face the penalty for destroying evidence than the penalty for what the evidence showed.

Anyone know what happened to Jose Rodriguez for destroying 92 tapes of CIA torture?

Head of Ops, something noble and worthwhile for those qualified to serve above the law.

But I think they might have made a real frowny face when they told him of his promotion. So, lesson learned.

Also we cannot depend on police unions to shore in their people nor does the local DA in these areas. That makes it real hard to go after crooked cops imo.

15. I think you are on to something here, maybe make it policy for the DHS or the FBI

to investigate as a mandatory action. I bet it might curb some of this horrible violence by local PDs. We kind of need a reason to have the DHS imo...this would be a great cause to keep the agency busy.
