I think that's the reasoning.

Many of these irrationalities comes from three words "God said so". They cover a wide range of horrible feats of inhumanity and are not just found in Judeo-Christan holy books. It is universal.

Those three words have caused untold wars and misery for the commoner throughout history. This is why I am so against fundamentalism of any type. "God said so" is not a valid excuse to do anything but worship peacefully imo.

I can't imagine that choosing to give birth and then burying a child alive would have been her plan all along.

California has a law that says you can drop a baby off at a hospital, a police station, a church, a fire station, and other safe places and you will not be prosecuted. NOW whoever did this (don't automatically assume it's the mother -- I'm guessing it's something way worse) will be prosecuted for attempted murder and child endangerment, as well they should be.

Now this baby will become property of the state, face physical and sexual abuse in foster care only to be kicked out by the system at age 18 then be forced to committed crimes to keep afloat.

If its mother had the choice of abortion all of this would have been prevented.
