this excerpt from our Labor council, and federation:

{We Are One Coalition Partners,

One of our partners, the United Steelworkers, would like to invite you to stand shoulder to shoulder with Wisconsin’s working families as we work to put an end to Scott Walker’s attack on working families! June 5th is the date for the recall election, and we need your help!

From Pittsburgh, using you cell phone or landline, you can join a massive Get Out the Vote campaign to elect Tom Barrett as the Governor that will stand with Wisconsin’s working families! Can you commit to volunteer for at least 2 shifts in the next 6 days? A schedule for phonebank hours is attached, as well as instructions and the script.

Thank you all for any help that you can provide! With your help, working families will prevail!

Eric D. Russell
United Steelworkers
Local 3657

Excerpt end}

Hours are:
Thur (5-31): 10 am - 12 noon, 1 - 3 pm, 3 - 5 pm, 5 - 8 pm. (all CST).
Fri: 10 - 12, 1 - 3, 3 - 5.
Sat: 10 am - 2 pm
Mon and Tue: same as Thurs.

It is unclear if there will be an actual phone bank at the USW's Stanwix and Blvd. of Allies building, since all times given are CST, and we're EST. I haven't got a call back from up the c. of c. about that, yet.

But if there is no actual USW building site effort and phonebank hours are just for our independant home efforts, I don't know why any and all interested labor people can't use the system. Nationally. Or why it would be restricted to labor members. Mr. Russell could provide instructions and script, if he judges that this shouldn't be restricted to our AFL-CIO volunteers.

The We Are Wisconsin link and the AFL-CIO's FAN site both depend on Facebook, while some of us don't use that. The FAN site has a good one page talking points on 'why Recall Walker, and why Back Barrett', though.

Barrett lost in 2010 because 108,738 people in Milwaukee had something better to do that day than vote. It's all hands on deck to help GOTV!

Donations To Ian's Pizza On State Street Help Feed Teachers' Protest In Madison, Wisconsin

Fueled by worldwide donations, hundreds of pizzas have been delivered to the teachers' strike in Wisconsin, reports the Daily Cardinal.

After HuffPost's coverage of the initial donation of pizzas on Feb. 16, Ian's Pizza received a flurry of calls. Jack Thurnblad, assistant manager of the pizza parlor, told the Cardinal that the phone hasn't stopped ringing since.
