hand at the Medal of Freedom ceremony. Did anyone else see that? Please tell me I am wrong.

(30,439 posts)Although, I must confess that I didn't watch the ceremony. You wanted me to tell you that you're wrong, so I did.

(6,996 posts)Shake hands?? I don't think he was sure where he was much less what was happening. ( He sure deserved the honor though.)
The president seemed to be handling a frightened child almost, coaxing him to stand up.

(45,319 posts)By Dylan standards, he has been effusive and openly affectionate toward the President.

He probably wouldn't do it, but Dylan would be much better than Ozzy for that phone commercial.

(3,596 posts)When the cameras panned to him whether during Obama's comments about Dylan himself or of the other honorees, Dylan showed absolutely no response. He didn't smile, nod or shake his head, frown or anything.
And when he walked over to have the medal affixed by the President what I saw, and it was for just a fleeting second, was a very feeble and noncommittal handshake but again no emotion, no smile, etc. He was wearing dark glasses the entire time.
I love his music but I did find his behavior during the ceremony a bit odd.

His song, Blowing in the Wind, was an anthem for the civil rights movement in this country.
I am happy to see Bob get the Medal and I think he was as cool as always.
