"It's up to Americans to protect America. We're just your ordinary American family. -With love & liberty, Michele," her message read. Here's the card:
Fiore's daughters, Sheena and Savanah as well as her grandchildren Jake, Jayden, Mara and Morrigan, and her mother Lill are pictured. Jake, who a bio on Fiore's website says is at least 5 years old, is pictured holding the Walther P22.
We wish you a Merry Christmas, we wish you a Merry Christmas, we wish you a Merry Christmas, and... BLAM! BLAM! BLAM!

Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

(118,282 posts)... I send you like sheep among wolves: be wise as serpents and gentle as doves. Beware! they will hand you over to be flogged; you will be dragged before governors and kings ... Do not worry about what to say; it will come to you at that time ... Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; children will rise against parents and have them put to death; and you will be hated ... If they persecute you in one town, flee to another ... Have no fear: everything covered will be uncovered, and every secret known. What you hear in the dark, say in the light; and what you hear in whispers, proclaim from housetops. Do not fear those who kill the body but not the soul ... Do not think that I come bringing peace to the earth; I am not bringing peace but a sword. I will man against father, and daughter against mother, and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law; ones foes will be the members of ones own household ...

(1,958 posts)I have never posed for a photo with a firearm. (I think someone was taking photos at deercamp last month, but they would have been candids.) I think it is in very poor taste to let a child pose for a photo with a hangun (even if his finger is off the trigger).
Several years ago, there was a successful local high school wrestling team who sold posters with their team schedule. The boys were all wearing blaze orange and were holding either a rifle or shotgun. The wrestling season starts around the same time as deer season. Presumably, there were a few boys who were not hunters, but posed for the shot anyway. As a hunter, I thought it was a nice photo and a good fund raising tool. It would never happen today, although there are still schools in my state who close school the day before the deer opener.

(49,212 posts)I grew up around guns. My dad used to hunt and still collects guns and is not infrequently annoying and dogmatic about it. One of my earliest memories (I *might* have been three but I think I was two) is of standing in the back yard with my dad, going over gun safety rules with a cap gun. Which I wasn't allowed to point at anybody, it was only a safety training aid because guns weren't toys. I was a pretty good shot in grade school, and one of the criteria for when I was old enough to babysit my younger sister is when I could be trusted to shoot an intruder. We lived in a BAD neighborhood, and my dad had to march a knife-wielding intruder onto the lawn at gunpoint once, this was not an entirely unreasonable criteria for being responsible for somebody else.
Is there a single picture of myself or my sister as children holding a gun? No. Why? Because guns were an unremarkable tool, but also a thing to be taken seriously. There wasn't a picture of either of us getting a driving lesson, taking shop class or trimming the backyard trees either, because the adults in our lives were making sure we learned to do dangerous things safely, not taking trollish pictures of small girls working stick shifts or using saws.
So I don't see armed Americans ready to defend themselves in that picture, I see a troll who sees a gun as a lifestyle accessory rather than a potentially dangerous tool. And that's fucking scary, in addition to being some seriously appalling parenting.

Now one member of Nevadas State Assembly, Michele Fiore, claimed on a recent episode of her radio show that cancer is a fungus that can be flushed out of the body: Fiore, who operates a home health care business that sometimes passes payroll taxes onto the IRS, said she knew of friends who left the country to find end-of-life treatments that are not FDA-approved. And then the payoff: If you have cancer, which I believe is a fungus, she began, citing a widely debunked theory that the American Cancer Society warns about, and we can put a pic line into your body and were flushing with, say, salt water, sodium cardonate (I think she means bicarbonate), through that line and flushing out the fungus. These are some procedures that are not FDA-approved in America that are very inexpensive, cost-effective.
