Turkish maritime officials started inspecting all Russian ships arriving in Turkey in response to similar move by Russia following the downing of Russian jet, according to the officials.

Turkey’s detention of Russian ships had been rare before this month, according to data on the website of the port control agency, which monitors actions at Black Sea ports. Turkey had previously detained a Russian ship in August, while Russia as of Dec. 3 held two Turkish vessels this month and five in November.

It also detained a few Turkish vessels from August through October.

Both sides are doing it, this is classic tit for tat. And what they are doing are the kinds of silly inspections people should do, but none does, unless you want to make a point

from what I've read it started with Russians turning back tons of Turkey tomatoes....saying they were infected
and then it went into more and more Turkey products being turned away

and now Turkey is doing it to Russia

this really is escalating into a freakin mess

but I bet bribes for government officials and military is going up and up LOL!

It looks like a lot of tit for tat has been going on. It also places the SU 24 downing within the spiral

What is missing from this story is Russia blocked seven Turkish ships from entering a Russian port to unload their exports. Turkey is like, well, just let me stick that foot deeper in my mouth be further hampering trade with Russia. This act by Turkey is really stupid stuff, expect a ratchet up with a direct provocation to block access by Russia to the Dardanelles straight, which will help turkey not one iota but something USA controlled NATO (Europe not so much, in fact not at all) would love in order to ratchet war rhetoric and arms sales.
Something that would infuriate Europe at this stage, Turkeys entry into the EU is already pretty much dead and it's exit from NATO is on the cards, along with the US if the US try to force the retention of Turkey in NATO.
Oh what a mess we weave when we first seek to deceive, America.
It all ready looks pretty much like every US controlled politician in Europe will lose their elections regardless of the support of US controlled main stream media in Europe (yeah, people are really, really starting to notice).

to Japan and US

Turkey is invading other countries of which Putin has interests..........Turkey already has shot down Russia's fighter jet

The U.S. ceased oil exports to Japan in July 1941, following Japanese expansion into French Indochina after the fall of France, in part because of new American restrictions on domestic oil consumption.[34] This in turn caused the Japanese to proceed with plans to take the Dutch East Indies, an oil-rich territory.[nb 8] On 17 August, Roosevelt warned Japan that the U.S. was prepared to take steps against Japan if it attacked "neighboring countries".[36] The Japanese were faced with the option of either withdrawing from China and losing face or seizing and securing new sources of raw materials in the resource-rich, European-controlled colonies of Southeast Asia.
