Trump is the Candidate Limbaugh has Always Wanted

Anyone who has caught even a few minutes of AM Radio over the past 30 years could see Trump coming from a mile away. He’s not leading any “wave” of new supporters or mesmerizing the Republican electorate with “new” ideas. He’s simply giving the hate radio listeners what they want. He’s Limbaugh, Hannity, Savage, Inghram and the thousands of local AM “cookie-cutter” CON-servative blowhards all rolled into one big-fat-juicy package of fascism and spittle.

I can’t even feel embarrassment for the Republican Party, because it has no one to blame but itself. AM Hate Radio and Fox News were their creations, and the Hateful crap that Trump spews is just simply what you can hear 24/7 on those media outlets.

Republicans own Trump, just as they own Limbaugh, Hannity, Savage and the other purveyors of fascism. You fill people’s heads full of ignorance and hate 365 days a year, you one day find them supporting a guy who manifests that hate and ignorance.

Now, some Republican are “worried” by the monster their AM Radio and Fox News addicted masses have created. Not worried, mind-you, by what Trump’s ascendance means for the future of our country, but whether or not he’ll affect their hold on power…and they should be worried.

Hate Radio, while delivering solid .2 ratings for many local radio stations, just doesn’t cut it when it comes to the national level. Don’t get me wrong. We still need to drive AM Hate Radio into the dirt and salt the ground when it is buried, because it does have a huge impact in local elections, off-year elections, and…most troubling…it has a huge impact to our political discourse.

Oh sure, if Limbaugh or Hannity get a 2-share, they are considered a "great success" in radio, and Fox, despite averaging better than other cable stations, still only has a miniscule amount of viewers compared to the American population as a whole. That explains why, despite his radio success, every time Limbaugh has tried to venture out of his bubble (TV Show, ESPN) he has failed spectacularly.

More than anything, the steady drumbeat of Hate Radio on thousands of local stations helps the Republicans win “locally”. That is a problem Democrats need to solve. And, the Republicans can win some national elections in off-years when the majority of Americans aren't paying attention, and they can get massive cheers from their 20% when they say they'd let a man without health insurance die, or boo a gay Army vet completing his 3rd tour of duty in Iraq, but building a national governing coalition???? Forget about it.

As a proud 30 year retired Naval Officer and bleeding heart liberal, I am very happy in the knowledge that the majority of Americans have very little tolerance for the ignorance and hate you hear on Hate Radio.

The Republican Party knows that Trump has as much chance of being President as Sean Hannity does, and it's going to stay that way nationally until they refute idiots like Hannity, or local radio stations begins to realize that hate and ignorance no longer sells.

Which brings up an interesting point. We can rail all we want against Clear Channel and the massive corporate entities that deliver this Hate Radio for syndication, but to change it, we need to go after the local radio stations. They are the ones that are providing a platform for this hate. They should be the ones that are targeted by boycotts and letter writing campaigns. Go after their local advertisers. It’s all well and good that major companies are pulling out of Limbaugh and others shows, but you really want to see change? Wait until the local Service Station, Law Office, or Supermarket also decide to pull out.

What road will America take --- the road to betterment or the road to ruin? There is a good probability that Trump will be elected president.

establishment GOP and the hate radio GOP. The establishment GOP encouraged hate radio when it greatly benefited them and now the monster has turned on Dr. Frankenstein. They are getting what they deserve.

They rise of Obama was a money printing dream for those people and they know it. A win for Trump is 4 long years of carrying Trumps water. Carrying Bushes water sucked. People turned their dial. Several Liberal radio people actually started beating them in prime markets. Rush's empire shrank.

The key to RW radio is they want you to think they a brilliant, and they love themselves. They honestly don't give a crap for politics. Their shows are really all about them. Rush spends most of his time praising himself.
