On Saturday, Cruz told a tea party gathering in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, that he would utterly destroy the Islamic State, and even hinted that he would use nuclear weapons: We will carpet bomb them into oblivion. I dont know if sand can glow in the dark, but were going to find out, he said.
On Monday, Cruz stuck by that tough talk.
Crickets on the comments by the GOP's #2 man.

(10,362 posts)1000x the coverage of his rivals helps him in a field of nobodies. His base hates the media so much that any criticism of him is practically an endorsement of his conservative cred.
This has been handled badly.
