(40,656 posts)scavenge. One was sitting on top of the big bin for plastic staring at me as they ruffled their feathers. Then he flew off and over me gliding like a king. They have a piercing cry, you can't mistake it and a majesty. Wonderful birds. We have a lot where I live. You don't mess with them at all. They can claw your face off.

(15,189 posts)I think The Donald was concerned the bird might shit on his desk, and was trying to move a piece of paper under him. I wish that bird could have gotten some revenge by shitting somewhere, preferably on The Donald.
gratuitous
(82,849 posts)If you've ever seen an eagle shit, moving a little piece of paper under its backside isn't going to do it. Eagles sort of lean forward and projectile shit anywhere from two to five feet.
I'm sure the handler took care of that prior to the shoot, but damn it would have made a mess of Mr. Trump.

(13,877 posts)She has made Germany not only respectable again, but profitable and the back up/backbone for the EU. I did not know that she spent her first 35 years in Communist East Germany, for instance. That was a long but a good read...highly recommend. Of course, it does make one yearn for the days when America had proud and accomplished leaders.
Anyone remember Bush rubbing her back/shoulders at some state dinner? What a clueless, misogynist idiot. That said it all, right there.
Back to The Donald. I thought it was a photoshop at first...couldn't believe it actually happened. Please, please go viral.

(3,426 posts)Trump agreed to do the interview and the interviewer pitched the idea to Trump, and Trump went for it. The man behind the idea knew the trainer had the bird in Texas. So after trump agreed to it they had the bird and it's trainer flown to NY at no expense to Trump ! It all goes back to the beginnings of Trump's campaign launch as he were preparing for his grand entrance at the Iowa state fair .

(20 posts)Obviously the avian sector has it's priorities straight...in fact I am going to exclude all vertebrates since anything with even a rudimentary brain would react with disgust and lash out at the thought of supporting that troglodyte, much less being forced to be in such close proximity to that failed Hitler clone that he has on his head that has extruded tendrils deep into his brain.
I am thinking slime molds may be a more apt comparison.

(35,701 posts)I understand that it is a rehab eagle. But there are strict rules on rehab eagles in terms of exposure to people. This eagle appears to be quite healthy and possibly a candidate for release back into the wild at some point. But not if it is socialized to humans. Even if it is not a candidate for release there are still strict rules on eagle display and use for wildlife conservation educational purposes. Whatever is going on here does not appear to be within the guidelines issued by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

I can't speak to the legality of these displays, though. As they are fairly common-place I have to assume that they are either legal or that the Fish and Wildlife Service isn't interested in prosecuting them.

(17,301 posts)They can be heard a long way off and I get out by the chicken area when I hear that sound. My spouse is so mesmerized by the hawks and eagles that he sometimes forgets they are preying on our chickens. But they are so beautiful and a lost chicken now and then is worth it just to see them fly by our window.
