Commandos say no to women in special ops jobs, survey finds

http://www.miamiherald.com/news/nation-world/national/article49119955.html

WASHINGTON
The men in the U.S. military’s most dangerous jobs care little about political correctness or gender equality. And they have a message for their political leadership.

When they are fighting in the shadows or bleeding on the battlefield, women have no place on their teams.

In blunt and, at times, profanity-laced answers to a voluntary survey conducted by the Rand Corp., more than 7,600 of America’s special operations forces spoke with nearly one voice. Allowing women to serve in Navy SEAL, Army Delta or other commando units could hurt their effectiveness and lower the standards, and it may drive men away from the dangerous posts.

An overwhelming majority of those who agreed to respond to the RAND survey said they believe women don’t have the physical strength or mental toughness to do the grueling jobs.

I remember years ago when St. Paul required more women to be firefighters. They could not get enough women into those jobs because they could not pass the physical tests. They ended up reducing the physical requirements for women.

I had strength and thought I had stamina...until I was put in light infantry. 6 mile runs up and down hills and the commander is bouncing around like an antelope. Way too happy imo. It killed me...now when it came time to hump 200 pounds into the field I was golden and would pay back my commander with a killer forced march speed. Then there were the 140 pd guys that could ruck 300 pounds and run 18 miles like they did it every fucking day.

I came of age at a time when joining the military was seen as something you had to do if you had no other options (late '70s to early 80s).

While I was never in the military, I knew something about strength and stamina. I was a Division I 190# wrestler. I was good in the wrestling room, I was goid in the weight room, I couldn't run for shit. (I suppose it would be different if I had a commander making me run. (Peer pressure and fear of failure are quite powerful in these situations.)

You pictures prove the efficacy of androgens.

Safe, pharmaceutical grade testosterone, a simple solution to the inequality problem.

In fact, the high school ROTC programs should start the females on such a program in freshman year before the women's epihysial plates close, to allow those gals to grow bones as long and massive as males. But freshman year may be too late, perhaps pre puberty, antagonize estrogen and progesterone, and simply lay in the T.

Simple problem, simple solutions.

This isn't about women's rights, this about survival in a life or death situation, and the men don't want to put their lives in the hands of someone 35% less strong:

Have you ever heard the word onna bugeisha ?? That was the term for women who fought along side SAMURAI in the early history of Japan.

They maybe were not strong, but they were skilled in the arts of war. They new how to use
a Tanto (knife) or Nihon To (katana), but were especially skilled in naginata.

From Wikipedia:
onna-bugeisha was a type of female warrior belonging to the Japanese nobility. Many women engaged in battle, commonly alongside samurai men. They were members of the bushi (samurai) class in feudal Japan and were trained in the use of weapons to protect their household, family, and honour in times of war. Significant icons such as Tomoe Gozen, Nakano Takeko, and Hōjō Masako are famous examples of onna bugeisha.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Onna-bugeisha

They were strong in the warrior spirit, and while a warrior may have preformed Seppuku the Onna Bugeisha would never hesitate to take their own life if they were about to be captured.
There are other ways to be strong in battle, and they were apart of the Samurai class.

I think she is better than he is... even he appreciated her for her fighting skills. She was no slouch. China was pretty misogynistic back than, there were few women warriors or were allowed to fight. Even zyi zhang's character had to learn from a stolen book the skills of gung fu
which was taken from a monastery by Jade Fox. The monks would never allow her to join.

One thing I learned in taking Martial Arts, is that size and strength doesn't matter. If its Judo a smaller person can beat a larger one. I know this for a fact, I did it. In Karate striking a vulnerable spot will double over the biggest strongest person. In Kendo, a swift fast strike can win a match. In Kenjitsu, a fast strike can disable the biggest strongest opponents.

Did you know that in Japan, in kendo, there are far more women enthusiasts than men? Its true.

and Bruce lee would get demolished by Rhonda.

A lot Asian martial arts don't work in an actual fight and focus to much on worthless stand up techniques that are not effective and almost never practiced takedown defense. Back in the early days of the UFC when there were zero rules the kung fu/wing chung types would just get demolished because they had no take down defense and most of their stand up wasn't any more or less effective than your standard boxer. This was also a really fun era to watch as people usually just trained 1 type of school of martial arts so they fights were so different. (there was a sumo vs karate fight that was really funny)

Now everyone pretty much has some form of a jiu-jitsu/judo/boxing/muythai/karate combination because they have figured out the those 5 schools of martial arts are usually the most effective.

If you were to teleport Bruce Lee from the 60s/70s into a UFC ring today Rhonda would destroy him for a few reasons.

1) Rhonda is (was) a nation champion. She wakes up at 5 and does cardio / weight training / sparing until the sun goes down. Rhonda would have a MASSIVE athletic advantage over Bruce Lee. Even UFC experts today say the UFC champions of the early 2000s 1990s would get destroyed by current day champions because they didnt exercise as hard as UFC fighters do today. They would just run out of gas.
2) While Bruce Lee did practice martial arts, and did compete in his early years, his primary profession was not competing in fights against other people. It was primary instructional and theoretical sparing.

and finally and most importantly
3) Take down defense. Even though Bruce Lee practiced some judo I am willing to bet he would not know enough about preventing being taken down to the ground, because before jiu-jitsu/judo became massively popular in the UFC era, most people simply never practiced this. The expectation was you would stand up at shoulder length and perform kicks and punches.

The Gracie brothers from Brasil preached consistently about how kung fu only practiced punches and kicks and would constantly challenge kung fu experts for cash to expose this fatal weakness.

If you teleported bruce lee to 2015 and gave him a year to study he would have a much better chance, but Bruce Lee from the 60s 70s vs Rhonda in 2015 with no pre-training? he would get destroyed and it would look something like this:

Some are professionals, some are just amateurs..others love to be in the gym working out. Its a new trend these days to see more and more women getting strong. Maybe we are tired of being told what we can and can not do. Even I go to the gym once or twice a week. I am tiny, like Ziyi Zhang, but that doesn't mean I need a big strong guy to help me pick up a ten pound weight... omg!! I broke a nail... yeah right. I have heard that before too.

In special forces we need men capable of murdering women and children while the men watch. We also need to rape boys in front of their mothers too for some reason.

Not too many women are into that because they're not as strong as we men.

The difference between humans and apes is that we developed tools. A lever is one of them.

Tools just need to be redesigned for women. Sports equipment is constantly made lighter all the time. There are tools that people use to lift heavier people.

Nurses move heavy guys all the time.
There are techniques to lift heavy things or you redesign it.

What's the big deal.
