What could they do with it? Have Walker Parades? Have non-stop commercials on every cable outlet in the country?

After a certain point, the opposite effect will rise to the fore -people will tire of Walker and be less likely to vote for him.

POLITICO has learned that Koch-related organizations plan to spend about $400 million ahead of the 2012 elections - twice what they had been expected to commit.

This is what Cheney selected him to the bench for, and Roberts is doing what he promised.

His kids probably have some hefty trust funds set up for them, laying in some lawyer's to-do box in Wichita.

Alito was saying "that's not true" during Obama's SOTU speech when he warned against exactly what is nowhappening.
Of course, these days, his line is more a smug "that's too bad."

400 million seemed like a lot to me, even for people like the Kochs.

Apparently their combined net worth is about 50 billion. So 400 million is less than 1 percent of their fortune. It's the equivalent of a family worth $50K donating $400 to a campaign.

You can bet it is one of the Koch brothers with marching orders.

Bear with me...it makes it easier to juxtapose our differences. All we need are political ads asking why people should think he is on their side, while bank-rolled by such rich benefactors. We really could ride a populism wave unlike anything we have ever seen! If this is the reality we fight in, then so be it.

I'm hoping you're right...it'd be very satisfying to see these rich bastidges spend a ton of money and get nothing in return, but I also see a lot of apathy out there. Sadly I see it right here on DU where people are lukewarm in their support of the party and going to "punish" President Obama or whomever by not donating or volunteering to work in the upcoming election. This is shaping up to be an election of the haves vs. the havenots...and the haves are hungrier at this point.

Wisconsin is proof of the power of money. Walker should be down 15-20, but instead he's on course to win. A GOP landslide and three-tier rule will absolutely be the result if this isn't met by the billionaires who claim to be liberal when the camera rolls.

I understand why on an ethical level Buffett etc might not want to donate, but what's the alternative? Citizens United becoming enshrined and the backing of Koch co. becoming the only way to win elections. They must know that.

With that much donated, all the media will talk about is the Koch's and the money, and not Romney.

That may also be enough to get people that may have been leaning toward Romney to vote against him.

They have the money and are complicit in the effects a Romney Presidency would have on middle and low income Americans - not to mention the rest of the world - if they decide not to. Donate now, or CU and perpetual right wing rule is the future.

Future Democratic Presidential nominees would HAVE to lurch far, far right in order to stand the slightest chance. That would be the ONLY way to have a hope of gaining the support of Koch & co, something that would be more or less essential; Romney wins this, their endorsement is the only way to win every single election from herein.

It's no good these characters whining about paying too mch tax and wanting an end to Citizens United if they're going to let it win this election for Romney. Indeed, doing little or nothing could be seen as a tacit endorsement of the policy, their protestations against it little more than a cynical ploy toe sure that they remain well-liked by what they consider the ’cool’ crowd.
