Sundays record-breaking precipitation has worked its way out of the region just in time for another storm system to take its place.
The latest weather system will bring a chance for a rain-snow mix Tuesday morning and evening in the Omaha metro area. The western third of Nebraska could see 1 to 3 inches of snow. The snow also is expected to clip northeast Nebraska.
Riding in behind the system will be colder weather.
Its definitely something to watch, said Cathy Zapotocny, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service office in Valley. And its a much colder system than the weekend rainstorm that dumped record amounts of precipitation on parts of eastern Nebraska and western Iowa.
