Ben Carson: Kids don't like me when I open their skulls..."But later on, they love me."

Carson: "They're not happy about it, believe me. And they don't like me very much at that point. But later on, they love me."

Right-wing radio host Hugh Hewitt, who for some reason CNN has allowed to ask questions at two presidential debates, asked Carson if being a nice guy who has cured children he could as commander and chief order bombings that could kill children by the thousands. (He didn't ask if it would be a good idea to order such bombings. It would not.)

Carson said kids didn't like it when he said he'd have to open up their skulls to pick out pieces of their tiny brains, but later they loved him. I'm not sure how that was relevant, because I don't think the children he rained fire down from the sky upon would love him for that.

That seems barbaric. What an utterly detestable piece of work, is this guy!

My friend who had brain surgery for Epilepsy over 10 times...was awake for each one. They need you awake so they can tell they are not effecting any of your senses while in there...

Admittedly that was a while ago, but she was completely out for her brain tumor surgery. We saw her in recovery and she was completely out for at least 6 more hours after the surgery was over.

Not doubting you. Just from very limited personal experience found it odd he would talk about something being alert and conscious during brain surgery.

(after he drops a bomb on them) - because he's just trying to help them?

Children with something wrong with their brains come to him. He tells them he will be opening up their skulls - and they don't like him. But, after he has helped them, and they are better, they love him.

That's what he is saying....so applying that to his bombing of children...

That man is saying that bombing children is just another way of helping them. They may not like the bombings, or the death and mangled bodies, but they will love him after all is said and done.

That's sick.

I just can't get over how matter of fact he was with his answer. I don't doubt that Dr Carson has patients who love him but the way he tried to wrap his patients into his answer made no sense at all. Scary if you ask me.
