I have two republican friends who are horrified by the Republican slate of candidates. Horrified. They are both supporting Bernie. One has even contributed to his campaign. Neither will vote for Hillary however.

But I can't deny it's there. I just think Bernie has more appeal to the left leaning independents, as well as some of the centrist Republicans. I know he has considerable support from veterans and active military, as well as the old school GOP who feel their party left them.

It was more directed at Bill Clinton when he was President, but the anti-Clinton hate mostly went Hillary's way when he left office and she became Senator in 2001.

Many Republicans can't even tell you why they hate HRC so much, beyond calling her Hitlery and claiming she's a 'commie,' but they sure hate her.

...to despise anyone whose names rhymes with Clinton. Trump may have gotten onto some sit lists quickly, but he is decades from being able to inspire the visceral hatred in the rubes that Hillary Clinton does. Too many billions of dollars have screamed for too long.

He is a devout Christian and I think Cruz's evangelical pandering appeals to him. He is my friend, but I also think he is a gut reaction, low information voter.

We're in Houston and disagreed about the HERO ordinance that was recently defeated, because of the successful fear mongering of the right wing that MEN (trans women) would be allowed in women's restrooms. He voted to repeal it. I pointed out to him that there are NO cases of trans women sexually assaulting cis women in public restrooms in the entire US and he just said "I'd heard that".
