Have you heard about the "III Percenters movement"?

This is a new level of whacky to me.

They were joined by a post from Daniel Highberger, of Roanoke County, who recently founded a constitutional group called Sons of Liberty Southwest Virginia, which is a part of the national III Percenters movement. The movement takes its name from a belief that only 3 percent of colonists actually fought to win independence from England during the American Revolution. Followers believe government is creeping along a path to tyranny, and they are prepared to defend the liberty of all law-abiding Americans, Highberger said.

They were connected to that 'Citadel' scam in Idaho - the "III" name in the gun making company was three in Roman numerals (because these kind of guys are impressed by Roman numerals): http://www.democraticunderground.com/10022215622

in a curious sort of way.

Informed historians have documented that roughly 1/3rd of the colonists supported the revolution; 1/3rd supported England; and 1/3rd took neither side.

Self-identified heroes, of course, generally like to re-write history, in order to make their tiny numbers appear more appealing and, well, heroic.

They say that only 3% of the colonists were able to beat the mighty English empire. I get it now.

They are, above all, keen to get people shooting at other people. That's what counts, to them.

or send douches to "guard" recruiting centers (and show no hint of tactics)

but that they'll see 97% of Americans as traitors, going along with an illegitimate regime and thus the people they have to target to topple the tyranny of race-mixing

Armed 'Three Percenters' Movement Now Confronting Muslim Americans

They are known as "Three Percenters," followers of a movement that has rallied against gun control efforts nationwide, patrolled the U.S. border with Mexico and recently begun confronting Muslim Americans.

Followers describe themselves as armed "patriots." But some of their leaders have been blamed for threats and vandalism against lawmakers, police and Muslims. One prominent member from Phoenix prompted an FBI alert in November after posting an expletive-filled Facebook video saying he was headed to upstate New York with guns to challenge a Muslim group. A Three Percenter in suburban Dallas led a mosque protest by armed, masked men that same month.
...
"We will interfere with every move they (Muslims) make towards taking over our country," Dallas protest organizer David Wright said in response to questions the Associated Press sent to his personal Facebook page. "We are ready to fight back if they come at us violently."
...
Followers appear to consist mainly of white, male, conservative gun owners who believe the nation has been pushed to a tipping point by socialists in government aiming to disarm them, strip their constitutional rights and take their property, according to groups that track anti-government movements.

It will surprise no-one that they started in late 2008, the moment President Obama was elected.

I see their bumper stickers often here in Oklahoma. The symbol is 3 bullets and its usually right next to some nasty shit about liberals and/or Obama. I knew the 3% started with the war, but here the RRWJ's have co-opted it use as well, claiming that if only 3% of Christians followed the Bible, they could convert the rest of the world.
Math and logic aren't popular subjects with the RW home schoolers.

Many of them subscribe to a level of originalism that makes Scalia look like a leftist. They believe every amendment after Number Ten is invalid, that the Titles of Nobility Amendment is in force (and a driver's license is a title of nobility), and a law doesn't apply to you if you don't consent to it. Oh...they also own enough guns to arm an infantry company. They're dangerous and delusional.
