1. Seems obvious that the issue is about trying to discredit Sanders and throw him off for Saturday.

I think it will have the opposite effect on Sanders and the viewing public than was planned. At least, I hope it will.

2. Each campaign puts private notes attqched to each voter file, the basic data is shared but the

Analysis, the strategy, the notes are all private by campaign and should not be visible to others. It appears Hillarys 2008 texh guy is incompetent because the individual campaign data should be salted and hashed with pointers to the shared data. That simple encryption would keep everything safe regardless of whether the firewall was up or down.

And another thing - stop access when you are doing software updates, have a maintenance window. That way NO campaign has access when the firewall is down. Pretty simple stuff really, for a competent database person anyhow.

But the Party organization (DNC) must share all their information equally, is my understanding.
