The region may need to gird for more snow, as weather forecast models Friday suggested that a significant storm would hit the region Monday.
Cold air will be in place the high temperature is expected to be near 27 degrees though the National Weather Service said snow amounts would depend on the timing and track of the system, factors that were not yet clear.
The big post-Christmas shopping days Saturday and Sunday are expected to come with a chance of rain and snow, though forecasters expect little accumulation. Temperatures are to fall below freezing by 5 p.m. Saturday. Wind gusts might reach 29 mph.
Sunday is expected to be sunny, with winds up to about 20 mph and nighttime lows around 15 degrees.
