They are just insane

Paul Ryan’s “Muslim beard” is apparently a source of controversy among conservatives. Yes, you read that right: A GOP congressman, the Speaker of the House no less, is being called out for having facial hair. We have now reached a level of Islamophobia in this country where anything more than a five o’clock shadow means you hate America and secretly support terrorism.

This bizarre situation was first reported by The Hill, which noted that members of the right-wing are angry with Ryan after he helped pass a “trillion-dollar spending deal with Democrats.”

I guess they thought his first order of business would be to push for another government shutdown since we already know that obstructionism is what the GOP does best at this point. Breitbart claimed that by failing to stop the spending bill, Ryan “betrayed America.” That level of tantrum-throwing was bad enough, but then we get social media going off on Ryan for having a “Muslim beard.”

(note: I looked for signs that this was satire, but didn't find them. Forgive me if it is satire. I really can't tell anymore)

I've had a beard pretty steady since I put down my razor July 11 1974, after shaving for my last formation before discharge at Ft. Meyers, VA.

I generally like beards on men, but in my nearly worthless opinion here, I don't think Paul Ryan looks good in one. Some men do, some don't. But equating the beard to Islam is total bullshit.
