PHOENIX (AP) – Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is selling a home that she bought four years ago in Arizona.

Palin is asking $2.5 million for the six-bedroom, 7,900-square-foot home in Scottsdale.

It sits on a 5-acre compound that includes a six-car garage, pool, full-length basketball court and putting green.

Real estate agent Richard Barker said he’s selling the home on behalf of Palin and her husband.

Barker says they bought it as a second home, but now it’s just too big for them.

Grifting must not be as profitable as it once was.

Stupid people who suddenly come into money don't usually handle it very well. Buying this monster house in Arizona, for example. I don't imagine her income is as high as it used to be. How much time have the family actually spent there? Is there a mortgage? Even if she paid cash for it, how much are the taxes, insurance and utilities? It may be that they simply can't afford it.

The exterior of the house looks like a motel. The interior is completely staged and looks like no one ever lived there.

I like the overall estate. I really like the interior. It seems very open and spacious. If I lived in Arizona and had $1-$2 million to spare I would consider buying the home.
