Santa Cruz is a pestering pit and San Jose is a fairly large city. 4 deaths, including a suicide. There have been more deaths on the highway leading up to Santa Cruz.

2 last year, in a town a tenth the size of San Jose - the last on 12/25 a couple of blocks from me (mentally ill man waving knife at police).

but I didn't expect to find any... being a FireFighter who mostly does EMS I would have expected to hear about any if there had been one...

There have been 7 shootings within a 1-mile radius of this point in the past year, 5 fatal and 2 non-fatal.

I love it when people tell me I don't know anything about guns.

There have been 4 shootings within a 2-mile radius of this point in the past year, 1 fatal and 3 non-fatal. The closest shooting was 1.25 miles away.

That (closest) would be the kid that killed the other kid the week before. August was a blast round these parts.

10-15 miles away from my house. Yeah, I know Tallahassee has had a lot of shootings this yea but I wanted to see if there were any in my part of the county.

As a note, Connecticut doesn't have county government, so every town has full home rule.
