I cannot even begin to imagine.
And I'm not talking about the subject matter of the speech, because we all know he'll never touch the subject of gun control if God forbid he's ever elected. That's not even where I'm going here.
I'm just talking about giving a speech about anything that is important, or serious, or a pressing matter, and not turning it into a meandering platform for him to talk about himself or his critics or whatever lame thought pops into his frazzled combed over hairbrain.
He's completely incapable of it. He's been running for what--six months--and has yet to actually give a real cohesive speech of any sort. He's spoken words, but it's nothing but a chaotic stream of consciousness of a man with a severe case of Narcissistic Personality Disorder and someone who only wishes to hear himself talk.
Not that the rest of the GOP field is much better, but God forbid if they are elected, they'll get speechwriters who will try and attempt to make them sound presidential. They'll fail, just like they failed for Bush, but they'll try nonetheless.
But Trump won't allow for speechwriters, and he's not intelligent enough to come up with anything on his own that would make him sound like a leader or even just empathetic. That's why the thought of him even having a possibility of being elected our President, even if remote, scares me. Our national image would be completely destroyed. It took a major hit during Bush, but I think the damage would be irreparable under Trump.
The contrast between the two men could not be any greater than it was today.

(1,819 posts)Nor would he. Trump doesn't know how to have an adult conversation or give a speech above a third grade level.

(43,198 posts)There's nothing serious, dignified, measured, intelligent and/or resolute in the face of pressure about him.
He's a clown, pure and simple.
