(33,497 posts)but it's still growth which is better than what Obama inherited. The American people seem to not understand history or pay much attention so it wouldn't surprise me if Romney wins and then takes us back to the Bush policies.

(31,706 posts)That's the advantage of being out of power...you can obstruct and revise history and have a complicit corporate media gladly spread your propaganda. Unfortunately Team Obama can't find a way to fight this as thanks to the stimulus and the bank bailout (yes, those ugly bailouts) we will never know how bad it would have gotten. Thus the rushpublicans can play both ends against the middle...and have framed the message. People have long forgotten the 800,000 plus monthly job loses under boooosh...and even if there was a 200,000 net gain in job it still would be seen as "not enough".

(14,180 posts)running right now, I know what he'd be doing and saying. Every other word out of his mouth would be "The Do-Nothing Congress". Over and over and over again, until it became a mantra the American people could recite in their sleep.
Do-Nothing-Congress.
See how it falls so blithely off the tongue? Alternate with "I blame Boner' (notice the cool alliteration and scatological allusion embedded?)
Fuck these Repigs. They want a class war? Let's give 'em one and hard (speaking of scatological allusions).

(31,706 posts)I've long felt the Democrats need to embrace a more populist tone rather than run from the soundbites; however (and that always shows up in my posts these days) getting that message out and resonating is another story. With Congress approval ratings slightly above that of a child molester you'd think it'd be easy to run a Truman-like campaign. One big difference: $$$$$$. We're seeing the party elite who have their tenacles into the corporate money rebelling just as we saw it happen with the rushpublicans (and why Mittens is their nominee). File it under: don't shit where you eat.
Cheers...

(6,295 posts)....slick-willard, (the rich wall-street Mormon, understander of economies and job killer) wants us to do better....but first he needs to explain what he and his corporate buddies have done with our money we gave them as 'tax breaks for jobs'....'tax breaks for jobs' was the deal, but they haven't created any jobs....
....haven't you been and aren't you currently a part of this economy, slick-willard?....you and your corporate associates should lead by example and 'do much better' by hiring people instead of laying them off....remember, 'tax breaks for jobs'?
....and somewhere among all those laid-off and under-employed people are a whole bunch of God-pukes and baggers....how can you God-pukes and baggers vote for slick-willard?....he takes your 'tax breaks for jobs' but he won't give you any jobs?....how can you in good Christian faith vote for slick-willard?....for Gods' sakes, he's a Mormon!
