Thank you thread for John Kerry!

He is doing an amazing job as Secretary of State in my opinion.

Just amazing. He is patient and keeps his eye on the goal: peace for all, not just for Americans, but for all of the earth.

I don't know whether anyone else has posted this recently, but I just think we cannot say thank you enough.

He should have been president.

Was probably elected in my opinion.

We are lucky that he is our Secretary of State.

Wendy Sherman said each negotiator said what it meant to them. Kerry spoke last saying that after being in war as a young man he hoped that if he were ever in a position of power he could work to avoid one. She said that it was very emotional.

I'm making a wild guess, but Bernie seems to pretty much agree with Kerry's approach thus far, and where there may be disagreements, they can probably be worked out. But I could be completely wrong on this.

How many times had Bernie praised Kerry's FP approach? It's countless!
Bernie, a basically Socialist, and not Dem Party member was and is far more supportive of Kerry's efforts, than the " main Dem candidate". And it is not only a matter of political agenda!

I agree with every word.

As I heard the news first about the implementation of the Iran deal, then about the prisoner exchange, I was thinking the same thing.

He has been an OUTSTANDING Secretary of State. I wish he could stay on after Jan 2017-- but, from what I can see of the candidates so far, I don't see anyone who is in sync with him as Obama. I noticed how, after the SOTU, Pres. Obama walked up to Sec. Kerry, greeted him by name, grabbed him by the shoulder . . .later, a shout-out to John Lewis, "I love you, John Lewis"

I know that the President greeted other people, but these are the ones that stick in my mind.
Good choices, Pres. Obama .

policy that harshly. And Kerry knows the international decision-makers.

This would be especially good if Obama were appointed to the United Nations in some way. Bernie tends to agree with Obama on foreign policy. Or am I wrong? Can you think of some areas in which they might disagree?

Building coalitions is, I think, what Obama has tried to do and what Bernie wants to do.

I think Obama learned a lot from dealing with Pakistan and Afghanistan. But I have to just draw my opinions from the information I have which is not a lot.

What do you think? Why?

I'm really interested in what you think.

In Libya and Syria mistakes were made in my opinion, but I also think that Obama has tried to avoid making the same mistakes. I think we have supplied military equipment to places we should not have provided it. But we have done that for years. I hope that some good solutions are found in Yemen and other places in the Middle East. There has to be some way to provide hope to the people of the Middle East other than medieval religious extremism. But what is it?

stature ... nor could John Kerry. This has nothing to do with their unquestionable merit. Back years ago, when people suggested this as a possibility for Clinton, it was explained that no citizen of one of the permanent members of the security council are allowed to have the position. I guess the reason is that these countries already have so much power that the UN SG being from one of them would be a problem

However, reversing the Ted Cruz logic, his dad was a citizen of Kenya ...
