Woman and dog, both victims of violence, form loving bond (trigger warning)

http://blog.theanimalrescuesite.com/khalessi-melissa-surviviors/?

They may not be “picture perfect” according to some but in my opinion, these two are BEAUTIFUL! An abused bait dog and a survivor of domestic abuse show us that warriors will not be silenced… no matter what! Melissa and Khalessi aren't going to hide in the dark, they are going to shine like the bright stars that they are, and bring awareness to survivors of abuse… both animal and human alike. I adore these two!

The Animal Rescue Site was founded to provide food and care for rescued animals in shelters. With a simple, daily click of the purple "Click Here to Give - it's FREE" button at The Animal Rescue Site, visitors help provide food and care for rescued animals. Visitors pay nothing. Thank you for sharing that.

As you noted, that story is probably pretty triggering, especially for people who love animals (since Melissa's injuries are almost unnoticeable by now). But Khalessi looks so sparkly-eyed and happy... they both do. That's a wonderful happy ending.
