Patriots' Darius Fleming saves woman from burning car, plays with 22 stitches in leg

<snip>

Fleming rescued a woman from a burning car by kicking in one of the windows, leaving him with 22 stitches on his leg. Yet he went on to play against the Chiefs.
Fleming was driving home from the team’s facility on Route 1 and was just a couple of minutes into his trip when he saw a semi-truck make an unexpected right turn, prompting three cars behind the truck to crash.

“I was about to go around it, but I noticed the lady in the front car, she was kind of jumping around the car in the passenger seat and I noticed the car start to smoke. I didn’t really think much of it. I thought she was trying to get out of the car. Then I realized the smoke was building up inside of the car.”

Fleming tried to open the door, but it was jammed. He started pounding on the window with the base of his first, but it wouldn’t budge. So he started kicking the window.

Eventually it gave way and he pulled the woman out of the car to safety.

“Then I noticed my leg was bleeding pretty bad, so I figured I should get out of there,” Fleming said. “I came back (to the team facility), got it bandaged up, and then went to the hospital.”

Jamie Foxx helps rescue man from burning truck
By Katia Hetter and Ed Payne, CNN
Updated 11:02 AM ET, Wed January 20, 2016

Jamie Foxx has played plenty of heroes on the big screen. Monday night he played one in real life. The Oscar winner helped rescue a man whose pickup truck crashed and caught fire in front of Foxx's home.

Brett Kyle, 32, was driving his Toyota Tacoma "at a high rate of speed" in Moorpark, a town in Ventura County, California, when the truck left the road, traveled into a drainage ditch and rolled over multiple times, according to a statement from California Highway Patrol Officer Marco Marin. The truck landed on its passenger side and caught fire with Kyle still inside.

"As I'm getting him out, I said, 'You've got to help me get you out because I don't want to have to leave you,' " Foxx told CNN affiliate KCAL. "I said, 'You've angels around you.'"

Maybe it's just the bad weather causing wrecks but this seems to be quite a coincidence!

FAR too many people here do. I used to live there back in the late 90's and liked them then, but not after Timmeh came to town.

about Elway (as you called him a right wing-nut just a couple of hours ago), you were a fair weather fan of them when he was quarterbacking your "favourite" team.
