Checking Op-Ed's the last couple weeks, yes there is a uneasy awareness by many in D.C.. Notice comments coming out of Davos yesterday and today, did address your statement about a trend toward lawless behavior. When the .01% become worried, count on some hash clamp down coming. Remember a statement by a Ploy Sci Prof, the law enforcement protects the Wealthy from the Proletariat.

... that the federal government is secretly non-existent, or the Constitution secretly bans national parks or whatever this particular tribe is on about.

They're working themselves up into the notion that some combination of the Bible, wild misreadings of the Constitution and the Second Amendment and a variety of conspiracy theories means they can pick up weapons and dictate the law to the rest of the country whenever they see fit.

Once again, I understand not laying siege to the bird sanctuary gift shop and giving these yahoos the drama and significance to which they think they're entitled. And there's no need to descend with heavy weapons and hurt them, despite their apparent wish for that.

But, have they even been ordered to leave? To quit driving the trucks and rifling through the computers and tearing security cameras out of the power station?

And it really does look screwy in contrast to the swift, pepper-spray and rubber bullet response to Occupy and the Ferguson protesters, who came with signs and real concerns instead of mercenary outfits and crazy demands to turn arsonists loose.

There is a real danger in sending a message that threats and guns are the proper, respected way to air grievances against the government, which is what these yahoos seem to believe.
