(11,175 posts)No wonder the occupation failed, with the forces of freedom being infiltrated by such agents of oppression.

(60,010 posts)I ask because I found that Firefox sometimes blocks pics here, I use another browser and can see them.

(86,646 posts)I suspected there was an image that was not loading, and I am on Firefox. I just started having that problem about three weeks ago... I'll have to look into that, thanks.

(60,010 posts)It won't open any embedded link to RT, but Chromium will.
It won't show images half the time, here and other places.
It won't show videos on a page sometimes, just a blank place.
It won't even OPEN some web pages, just sits there and refuses to , but at other times says there are not available, but Chromium goes straight to them.
I am depending on Chromium more and more.

(86,646 posts)lately too. I usually just force a reload and most of the time it works or if there is a placeholder icon for an image I can at least right click and view the image. For videos I reload once or twice and that usually works. But what gets me most is that it won't open my e-mail account half the time when I sign in.
I'll be looking into Chromium, who owns/built that?

(60,010 posts)Very fast, has lots of good things, like a much better auto fill for saved passwords and much more intuitive settings tools.
Also lots of good extensions.
But...it's Google, so there are some things I prefer to use my VPN for in Firefox, cause reports are Chromium can "peek" into real ISP while using VPN.
For me, Chromium plays online videos with various formats with out any hesitation, I have to fight with Firefox to do that now.
We are keeping our eyes open for a couple of open source browsers which are being tested now.
Oh..I should mention...we use Linux.

(86,646 posts)but I guess I should look into it too. Not impressed with what I read on the site for Chromium, and I had to use Chrome at work, don't like it. Plus, I never use saved passwords of much of the things you do, got a pretty simple lif going on I guess.
Thanks for info, it gives me a starting point and knowing it isn't my old laptop is comforting.

The lyrics to the songbird's melodious trill go something like this:
"Stay out of my territory or I'll PECK YOUR GODDAMNED EYES OUT!"
(60,010 posts)the Mental Health clinic on fire going down a river, have had them since they came out.
since I worked in Mental Health for years, used to keep that one in my office.
Framed, on my desk.
Ya know, people in MH don't have a sense of humor, turns out.
My kid's legacy.....he will get them.
