And not in sudden terror at having been shot. If he'd already been wounded, both hands would have acted in concert. Instead one hand is moving his jacket and the other is reaching to his side, where he likely had his 9mm gun.

Short take: Finnicum really is responsible for what happened and was not 'assassinated'.

Watching him being killed made me extremely sad. I disagree with everything he and that group stand for, but it's bothered me ever since .. just as a human being seeing someone die. I was one of those who thought he could possibly be grasping at a wound and not going for his gun - it all happened so fast and was hard for me to tell from that aerial footage. The video helped clear this up for me.

Then suddenly reaches in his coat. Wtf was he thinking?

It was clear, however, and I guess they had the right to shoot.

I saw his arms go down towards his torso, which is why I wondered if he might have already been shot. And again ..... I blamed no-one - I wondered if he'd threatened them verbally, saying he was going to shoot them or something.

The video proves to me he must have gone for his gun so yes, of course he was probably going to be shot. It's still sad that a human being died for their stupidity.

I didn't see your other post; no snark intended if you thought that.

I've watched that video at least five times (can't take anymore), and just don't get that his hands were up first.

I'm also saddened by the unnecessary death. Oddly, when that news hit - before we knew who was killed I just had a feeling it was him, and I was thinking "oh no, not tarp guy."

The whole episode was comedy, until it turned tragic.

I wonder what is going to happen with these remaining fools.

There were a few people who took offense I didn't see what they did, as though I was blaming LE - which I wasn't.

I didn't want it to be him either ... or anyone, but him I guess because when he talked to reporters he seemed to not want things to escalate, imo. I didn't see all of his interviews though.

I wonder too what will happen - those families they've left behind, I hope they made plans for how they'd manage. They couldn't have been stupid enough to not know they'd be arrested eventually? Or maybe they could. Yes, they definitely are fools.

My guess on the hands up first was that he at least had the decency to move away from the truck where there were more people so they wouldn't be in the line of fire.

Who knows? Maybe he was ill and this was a good way to go.

Just strange.

He seemed a bit of a dandy with all his fancy western-style clothes; he didn't strike me as suicidal.

Very sad all around. Those Bundys are idiots.
