The snow is over dramatized. There is no snow expected in Iowa until 10PM the earliest. There is a small chance of rain in a few places. I think the weather has been unecessarily dramatized.

Sioux City: 4% chance of rain at 7PM. 45% chance of snow at 10PM.
Council Bluffs: 42% chance of rain at 7PM. 54% chance of snow at 10PM
Des Moines: 7% chance of rain at 7PM. 56% chance of snow at 3AM.
Dubuque: 1% chance of rain at 7PM. 51% chance of snow at 4AM.
