The Bundys are trying to fight the Utah War over again and this time hoping to win by forming an allegiance with other militia groups
The Bundys and Finicum are all Mormons who deny the authority of the Federal government, hold the
principle of popular sovereignty (Sovereign Citizens) and believe they are guided by the hand of God.
They also adhere to the notion of Theodemocracy. All of these are foundational Mormon beliefs
This particular struggle has occurred before during the Utah War of 1857-1858

After all, I really don't see them wanting to do business-by-petition with God's kingdom on earth, as run by the Mormon Church out of His capital near Independence, Missouri.
