Chris Christie ignored Iowa and spent a ton of time and money in New Hampshire. Will it pay off? Given this year's Republican insanity, who knows?
But here's the reason I have the words "New Hampshire" and "Stupidity" in the headline.
Christie is such an obvious dick that only brain dead people would vote for him. Just last week, with a small piece of his state (New Jersey) under water, he said, right into the camera, "I'll get a mop." Really? Exactly how much more of a prick can one guy be?
Not to mention screwing over tens of thousands of commuters with the "Bridge Gate" stunt. He's been "cleared" according to his lawyer. But you can bet your ass that some of his ex "friends" will eventually flip on him to lower their jail terms.
It seems to me that those who will vote for Christie and want to see him in the White House, are totally unaware that he has more of a chance of ending up behind bars.
Then again, we're talking about Republican voters here, so who knows what they'll do? Reason, logic and sanity don't apply this year.

(3,457 posts)NEWARK Federal prosecutors in the Bridgegate case have failed to turn over important defense materials including an email written between Gov. Chris Christie's former spokesman and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey official who ordered the infamous lane closures at the George Washington Bridge, a court filing says.
The email was written the week of the lane closures, according to the letter written on behalf of Bill Baroni, one of the Bridgegate defendants. It is one of "numerous documents from the week of the lane closures" Baroni's defense does not have, the letter to the judge says.
The letter, filed Wednesday in federal court by attorney Michael Baldassare, charged that federal prosecutors failed to turn over email gathered but withheld by the law firm Gibson Dunn & Crutcher, which Christie commissioned to do an internal investigation over the lane closures in September, 2013.

gratuitous
(82,849 posts)He taunted someone asking him why he was out campaigning instead of attending to the disaster in New Jersey: "What do you want me to do, bring a mop?" As if he would know how to work a mop.
But yeah, supporters of Gov. Christie seem very taken with his tough guy patina, overlooking the fact that it comes out almost exclusively when he's confronting young or small women that he can physically menace. He doesn't strike me as a very nice person.

(871 posts)That's because he is not...a very nice person. Almost everything he's done has proven that. As a NJ resident, I cannot wait until his term is over. Hoping there might be an indictment before that.

(2,419 posts)there's just so much there. Let's start for today with the "exoneration" report from Gibson Dunn. No notes, no recordings, key witnesses not interviewed. Some top level ace lawyering there. Within days of being hired, Gibson Dunn contributed $10,000 to the RGA. Nothing like laundering public monies into campaign donations. A lawyer at Gibson Dunn who participated in the investigation hosted a $2,700 a head fund raiser for Christie. (but it was independent). I could go on for days... or you could just check out the Christie Crime Digest for yourself. Or if you don't have the time to read through the more than 300 articles you can find there, just watch the movie version:
