"SNIP.............
Cruz' standing in New Hampshire has slumped this month, according to HuffPost Pollster's aggregation of all available polls, putting him in third place in the GOP race in the final days before the primary.
The hostile exchange went back and forth for more than 10 minutes. As Davenport tried to elaborate, Cruz raised his voice and said sharply: Sir, Im happy to answer your question, but we are not having a debate.
Cruz said President Barack Obama and then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton led the 2011 NATO effort to topple Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, claiming the intervention created a vacuum that allowed the rise of radical Islamic terrorists. He suggested the same thing would happen in Syria if the U.S. ousted Assad.
Davenport passionately explained that Assad had killed 200,000 innocent Syrians. Cruz cut him off.
We will not have a debate, Sir. I will answer it, but I will not have a yelling match, Cruz said forcefully, as Davenport again tried to get a word in. Alright, this answer is over, Cruz shouted as the crowd erupted in applause.

(1,333 posts)I would probably ignore anyone who says that Assad has killed 200k of his own people. Its a complete waste of time and energy debating anyone that delusional to make such an idiotic statement.
Its also funny how the only alleged atrocities they mention is the ones from after the war promoted by the neocons started. Not giving Cruz any credit cos I am sure he would have been all pro war had the war been promoted by a republican president.

(51 posts)Yes Cruz is correct, as I said in the time of the uprisings it is stupid for the US to help topple dictatorships that will give rise to Islamic fundamentalists taking over the region... unfortunately time has proved me correct.. You cannot promote democracy in an area of fundamentalists majorities or even power centers.. it will not work.. the fundamentalist will take over and run the area by the word of their "god". That is a historical fact.. Just ask Cruz... he wants exactly the same thing all other fundamentalists want.. and he'll use the supposed democratic process to get it... democratic process that is according to 5 right wing nut jobs on the supreme court "Money"...

(1,333 posts)The fundamentalists are not the majority in Syria. Most of the jihadists fighting in Syria were shipped and trained outside of Syria. The govt would have crushed the astroturf revolution and prevented the deaths of 100s if the US and EU had stayed out of the way.
