Minneapolis Police Shooting Case Goes to Prosecutors

By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
MINNEAPOLIS — Feb 10, 2016, 3:37 PM ET

Minnesota authorities have completed their investigation into the November fatal shooting of a black man by Minneapolis police officers.

The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension said Wednesday that it turned the results of its investigation over to prosecutors, who have said they would present the case to a grand jury for possible charges against the two officers involved.

Twenty-four-year-old Jamar Clark was shot Nov. 15 during what authorities said was a struggle. He died a day later. Some who say they saw the shooting have said that Clark was handcuffed.

Clark's death prompted protests in Minneapolis, including an 18-day occupation outside the local police precinct where demonstrators demanded that video of the shooting be released. Authorities have said they won't release video until the case is closed.
