Plus-size model Ashley Graham nabs Sports Illustrated swimsuit spread

NEW YORK, Feb. 10 (UPI) -- Plus-size model Ashley Graham will appear in the 2016 Sports Illustrated swimsuit Issue.

Sports Illustrated announced the 28-year-old model will debut in the forthcoming edition, saying Graham has "branded herself over the years as an advocate for beauty of all shapes and sizes."

"It's official - I'm a @si_swimsuit model! This is a dream come true," Graham wrote on Instagram. "Thank you to everyone who stood up for curves - our voices were heard and together we can help me win Rookie of the Year. #beautybeyondsize @siswim."

Graham first appeared in the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue in a Swimsuits for All campaign last year. The publication ran her ad in the 2015 issue, making her one of the few plus-size models to grace the pages of the magazine.

But I thought about it before I posted.

But it does seem to me that if we are going to have such things, then girls of normal weight should be allowed. If you are going to complain about body image issues, this seems like one corrective step.

Tyra Banks appearing on the cover was a major cultural milestone, as is Ashley Graham's spread, so in that sense it marks an important cultural shift, but it should also give us pause to consider how far we still have to go on issues related to gender and sexuality.

That dress/corset thing looks very tight on her in your photo. Better photos are in the OP's article and online, where you can see she's definitely got the pear-shaped body style.

On top of that, I'm sure her height makes her look smaller as well (she's 5'9", which is fairly tall for a woman).

6. Ashley Benson: I'm told to lose weight 'all the time'

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 10 (UPI) -- Ashley Benson is perfectly happy with her body the way it is.

The 26-year-old actress discussed her weight and Hollywood pressure to be thin in the March issue of Health magazine. Benson told the publication she's often told she's "too fat" despite being a size 2.

"I get told all the time to lose weight," the star said. "With my stuff recently, it's been, 'You have to be skin and bones or you're not getting it.' There was a point where it was getting to where a size 2 was great. I'm a size 2, but I think that a size 4 is healthy. I think that all of these sizes are healthy."

"It's come up a few times in the last few years, like, 'You're too fat for this,'" she elaborated. "And I'm just sitting here like, 'Wait, what? Do you want a skeleton?' But I feel good. I don't want to lose 20 pounds, because I don't need to."

Different Ashley, who does not appear to need to lose any weight either.
