http://www.10tv.com/content/stories/2016/02/10/columbus-ohio-ohio-house-of-representatives-vote-to-defund-planned-parenthood.htmlCOLUMBUS, Ohio - An Ohio bill that seeks to divert government money away from Planned Parenthood is headed to Republican Gov. John Kasich for his expected signature.
The House of Representatives voted 59-32 in favor of defunding. Eight Representatives abstained from voting.
The GOP-led state House cleared the legislation Wednesday as Kasich, a Republican presidential contender, campaigned for the coming GOP primary in South Carolina. Signing the bill might help Kasich with conservatives who dominate the state's Feb. 20 primary.
Final passage of the Ohio bill comes a day after the New Hampshire primary, where a tough stance against Planned Parenthood might have been received with less enthusiasm by its many moderate Republican voters.
Earlier Wednesday, Planned Parenthood supporters delivered handwritten valentines to state lawmakers in an effort to urge representatives to oppose the bill. They also gave condoms and pamphlets about the organization's services.

(20,818 posts)family still lives there. I knew this fucker when he was the congress critter for a nearby district and I'm more than well aware of just how awful and deceptive he truly is. Back when Ohio had sense, he had to forego running for more congressional terms because he was considered too extreme, which he absolutely was.
One of the first things he did when he managed to snake his way into the governor's mansion was attempt to push through a law similar to Wisconsin's in destroying collective bargaining rights of public employees. Then he tried to reduce pensions and Medicaid. My parents were retired teachers, my stepfather was in a nursing home with Lewy Body Dementia my mother was barely making it because Medicaid rules required her to give up most of their pensions each other before it'd pay anything for his care. They'd given forty years of dedicated service, but, to KaSUCK/SICK, teachers and other public employees, including public safety workers, were lazy slugs sucking off of the hardworking one percent. He also continues to fuck with the schools, pushing charters and vouchers even though both are destroying public education and the charter school system is so corrupt that even the state watchdog agencies think they should be reformed or shut down, but KaSICK is doubling down. He's also an authoritarian religious fanatic.
I could go on and on and on. The long and short of it is that this motherfucker is DANGEROUS, he's no better than Cruz or Trump and company, he just hides it much better.

(20,818 posts)an understatement. And it's really frustrating that people who don't know him and think he's oh-so-great moderate and establishment, can't see beyond the fake persona he's so adept at adopting. He's truly frightening.
