I dont think he understands the danger of the open border that we have with Mexico"

During an interview with Fox Business Stuart Varney on Thursday, Trump went after Pope Francis decision to visit Mexico while Trumps campaign continues to rile supporters anti-immigrant anxieties with promises of a giant border wall to keep out Mexicans.
Pope Francis is gonna stand at the border with Mexico, standing with the migrants. What do you make of that? Varney asked Trump.
First calling Pope Francis a very political person, Trump then insisted the religious leader doesnt understand the problems our country has.
I dont think he understands the danger of the open border that we have with Mexico, Trump told Varney.
I think Mexico got him to do it because they want to keep the border just the way it is. Theyre making a fortune, and were losing.

(14,732 posts)T Rump is the perfect candidate for the 'Know Nothings' of 2016, even down to the vile anticatholicism. He is truly the Kind of the Know-Nothings.

(5,167 posts)fences, as did Cardinal Sean O'Malley when he visited the US-Mexican border.
I'm sure Pope Francis will give his Papal blessing to the visitors while there.
Like Jesuit Pope Francis, Cardinal Sean O'Malley is a member of an order, the Capuchins, who live humbly and aim to be Christ-like in their daily life.

(111,275 posts)If they were ever for Trump, they won't be any longer. Trump might actually drive a wedge between Catholics and Protestants, uneasily united since that old fool Reagan got religion. This is a good thing.

(10,272 posts)Because they're too dumb to know they're being played for suckers that's why.

Yes, some prefer Pope Benedict, and believe Benedict was pushed out in order to install Francis.

(2,434 posts)saying something bad about your spouse or children - it's okay for you, but no one else better say anything. He is still the leader of the RC and coming from a self-described Presbyterian (though he's hardly that) they will not take to this well as those same conservatives dislike Presbyterians as I can personally attest. I think the Pope "trumps" the apostate.
