(52,253 posts)much as they'd like to, that's a bit too much for them to get away with. they can certainly reject the first couple of nominees until they get someone "acceptable", but they can't just leave it vacant.

(52,253 posts)they still resent that a democratic senate said "no" to bork. great deference should be given to the president's choice of nominees, they insisted. but when it's democratic president, they're all about preventing a liberal from joining the court, and by "liberal" they pretty much mean "any nominee of a democratic president".

Until the day he died, he regretted being too weak and scared to do it..... He's gone George. He can hurt us no more....
