I think this goes without saying.

Hopefully it will get the Dems out to vote in droves in November.

The prospect of a young conservative in that seat and the next president potentially making multiple nominations = the slow death of the U.S.A. No matter how fractious things are on the left right now, I think we can all agree that this time in history is pretty monumental and it's a time for moving forward, not backwards. I am an atheist but damn if this doesn't seem like the hand of God or fate or something. I guess all major change requires a little bit of luck, and this might be just the thing this country needs to start the process.

A Sanders presidency would most likely usher in a Democratic majority in the Senate. They'd get someone even more liberal.

Not when republican obstruction for 8 years will be a campaign theme.

And if they do, Obama can still make a recess appointment after the election as a final "Fuck You."

Just vote no on each one he puts up. They have the votes to do that.

I would love it if Obama did a recess appointment. That would be awesome.

The White Hose has a fiing cabinet on nominees, most already on the federal bench, ready to go.

The political timing is exquisite.

Let them stall or filibuster on the eve of the two national conventions.

There's plenty of time to approve a nomination.

Plus, they also know that Senate likely in Dem hands in January.

They are screwed on this one.
