Those birds are raised for the specific purpose of being released in front of the hunters with no place to go but be mowed down by bird shot. They should be outlawed. They are a business for rich neocons to drink, eat and kill things for fun.

When I lived and worked in Texas on a ranch, a nearby ranch offered exotic animals from Africa and other places for these assholes to walk up and shoot for a trophy. Once, a couple of African antelope escaped and took refugee on the property my DH and I were living on. The owners were animal lovers, but the poor antelope got poached after a few months regardless. In Texas there are few laws to protect animals.
