Republican Primary Prediction: Kasich does better than expected in South Carolina, finishes 2nd

Especially if he has a good debate performance tonight. I think his whole "positive message" schtick is going to be surprisingly successful. I think Cruz is losing his base to Trump. Marco blew it last debate. And Bush has just no personality.

I think Kasich ekes out a 2nd place finish (distant 2nd to The Donald) and that gets the establishment thinking that he might be The One.

Feb 2016
Trump 34.5%
Cruz: 15.5%
Bush: 13%
Cruz: 12.5%
Kasich: 8.5%

Internal campaign poll (via Mike Murphy):

Source I trust sends these SC tracking numbers from a non-Jeb campaign; Trump 34, Cruz 17, Jeb 12, Rubio 10. Kasich in single digits.
