http://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/democrats-car-dealers-racism_us_564e440ae4b0258edb30ba10The gist of the story...auto dealers had been tacking on extra interest to car financing to boost profits. Govt found minorities were getting higher interest rates, even with same credit ratings. Govt tried to shut the practice down, Congress passed a bill permitting it to continue. Minorities, the Third Way Democrats are not your friends. And this is a good example of racial justice being intertwined with economic justice.

(3,820 posts)And why is the head of the Democratic party jointing republicans to pass this racist bill? We have to get her out of office. She represents nothing I believe in.

(15,882 posts)"So that happened. This week, the House of Representatives voted to help banks and car dealerships discriminate against customers of color. And it wasn't just Republicans -- 88 Democrats, including Democratic National Committee Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) -- voted in favor of the legislation."
From the article.

(14,255 posts)all voted for it. I expected that from Patrick Murphy and Gwen Graham and Debbie DINO - all Florida DINOs and members of the Third Way-advised new Democrat Coalition. Did not expect it from Grayson - but that does not make Patrick Murphy smell any better in the upcoming primary for Rubio's seat.

(35,356 posts)Annulling this is what the Huffington piece has to be about.
Much of this is aspirational. More than a bit is vague. Implementing aspirational, vague requirements can be a nightmare, esp. when you have to implement them without knowing whether or not you're actually stopping anything and when you're all but told you'll be legally liable unless you prevent somebody else who may or may not be doing something illegal from doing that possibly illegal thing. Intent matters, to be sure, but sometimes it's not enough.
It's written by somebody with a purely metaphorical axe to grind who's never actually learned how to chop wood but, having read that quarter-cut wood is best and a claim about the angle the blade should set at requires that all wood be cross-cut with axes set at that certain angle, and that wood-sellers should insist on wood choppers' compliance with his decree.
