Rock slide near Glenwood Springs closes I-70 at least for Tuesday

Interstate 70 will be closed for at least all of Tuesday after large boulders tumbled down Glenwood Canyon during a rock slide and slammed into two semi-trailers.

The drivers of the two vehicles were not injured in the slide, which damaged the interstate, said Trooper Nate Reid, spokesman for the Colorado State Patrol.

"Smart-car-sized boulders fell down canyon walls," said Amy Ford, a spokeswoman for the Colorado Department of Transportation. . .

Also, hell of a long detour -- via Steamboat Springs and Craig.
